Difference between ordinary carbon steel and stainless steel

Ordinary carbon steel, also known as iron carbon alloy, is divided into low carbon steel (to be called wrought iron), medium carbon steel and cast iron according to the carbon content. Generally, those with carbon content less than 0.2% are called low carbon steel, commonly known as wrought iron or pure iron; Steel with a content of 0.2-1.7%; Pig iron with a content of more than 1.7% is called pig iron.

Stainless steel is a steel with chromium content of more than 12.5% and high resistance to external medium (acid, alkali and salt) corrosion. According to the microstructure in the steel, stainless steel can be divided into martensite, ferrite, austenite, ferrite austenite and precipitation hardening stainless steel. According to the provisions of national standard gb3280-92, there are 55 provisions in total.
